In the accompanying release it was disclosed that it was based on the Toyota iQ, and that although it would retain the iQ’s engine and running gear it would feature Aston’s own bespoke interior.

The TBR700 Rally
From the 25th to 29th September 2025, the Cygnet took part in the TBR700 road rally, as part of the Two Ball Rally series, that starts in Perth, Skye, Ullapool, Inverness and back to Perth. The rally takes in some of the most spectacular and dangerous roads in Scotland including Bealach na Bà which is a winding one lane pass through the mountains of the Applecross peninsula.
