The shock announcement
On 29th June 2009 Aston Martin released a single image of a full size clay model. It showed a small city car with a distinctive, but large, grill, and a full width front spoiler. In the accompanying release it was disclosed that it was based on the Toyota iQ, and that although it would retain the iQ’s engine and running gear it would feature Aston’s own bespoke interior.

The motoring press loved the V8 Cygnet
The Lakes Route
Resplendent with its new Team decals by Matt's Wraps. The Cygnet ran the 2 day Lakes Route. Rally route instructions were provided in a road book. Based in Penrith for both days, the first day featured both Hardknott Pass and Wynose Pass. The former including 30% gradients and ranks as one of the steepest roads in England. The Cygnet made it up even with the wet roads and rain. The day ended with a party event (with real ale and dancing to live music) at the Penrith Cricket Club. The second day was no less challenging including the B6270 that climbs through Swaledale, perhaps the most scenic of the Yorkshire Dales, at 1700 ft. The funny part of the Rally is that we only passed one lake the whole trip. Return to Rallying.
